Albuquerque
I went to Albuquerque in the fall of my freshman year of college (2015). My sister is a traveling nurse so for fall break she asked me if I wanted to come visit her. At the time of my fall break in Albuquerque they were having an event called the The International Balloon Fiesta. That sounds weird and crazy but it was a time for people from all over the world to come see or fly in a Hot Air Balloon. They had The Band Perry come sing and it was just incredible, the sights of all the balloons were so beautiful. It was an all day event for me and my sister. We showed up before dawn so at sun rise we could see all the balloons take flight. Midday we just sat and watched some more then was the concert and after dark we got back to my sisters apartment. The balloon fiesta was just a one day thing, for us at least, tickets were fairly expensive. So the next day we went to the zoo. That sounds kind of childish, why would a 18 and 28 year old be going to a zoo, but I love to go to the zoo, I find all the animals so fascinating. My favorites to visit in a zoo would be the Penguins, Giraffes and Hippos. I love weird animals, thats just me. So we went around the whole zoo and finally got to the penguins. We watched them forever and just stared, finally my sister had had enough so we kept going around the zoo and saw many interesting other animals and animals doing tricks and such. Well we checked the schedule and hippo feeding time was coming up. We went and watched, we were in the front of the crowd and I just cracked up because the hippos were so large and they had such big mouths but my favorite hippo to watch was the baby. It was so cute and probably not as tiny as I make it out to be. So after feeding time we went to see the giraffes. Not a lot happened with the giraffes but they are just so cool to watch. So after the zoo I didn't think I could handle anymore walking but my sister insisted we see the Indian Ruins. I am so glad she did. They were incredible. It was quite a hike to get to where we saw the hieroglyphs that the Indians have made. They were also kind of hard to see. I was so mesmerized by them though. I do certainly plan to go back some day!
